Community Guidelines

Make room for good conversation.

Nightfall works best when people can share ideas, ask honest questions, and disagree without making the space unsafe. These guidelines apply to every post, reply, profile, media upload, report, and interaction. Last updated September 19, 2026.

Treat people like people

Be respectful and address ideas without attacking the person behind them. Do not target anyone with harassment, threats, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact.

Do not evade a block, encourage others to harass someone, or use replies, quotes, reposts, tags, profile fields, or media to continue unwanted contact.

Keep the community safe

Do not post credible threats, instructions for violence, hateful attacks against protected groups, sexual exploitation, or content that encourages self-harm.

Do not share someone's private information without permission, including addresses, private contact details, private images, credentials, financial details, or information that could enable targeted abuse.

Post honestly

Do not impersonate people or organizations, manipulate conversations with spam, misuse tags or trends, or use coordinated activity to mislead others.

Give people room to make their own decisions and check important claims before presenting them as facts. Do not use Nightfall to run scams, phishing, or deceptive promotions.

Use the right place for the right thing

Keep posts relevant to the conversation and avoid flooding the service with repeated content, unwanted promotions, low-effort automation, or automated replies.

Do not upload malware, exploit the service, scrape aggressively, bypass rate limits, abuse media uploads, or use Nightfall to break the law.

Share media responsibly

Only upload photos or videos you have the right to share. Do not post non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors, graphic exploitation, or media that invades another person's privacy.

Do not use altered or out-of-context media to deceive people about a person, event, or public matter.

Reporting and moderation

Use the report action when a post, comment, or profile breaks these guidelines. Reports should be made in good faith and include useful context when possible.

We may remove content, limit features, preserve records, or suspend accounts when necessary to protect the community. We consider context, pattern, severity, and the safety of the people involved.

When something goes wrong

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact help@nightfall.app with the relevant details. Please do not retaliate against the person who reported content or try to organize harassment around a decision.
